These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your access to and use of the Meri Paathshala platform, including all features, content, and services offered through our web and mobile applications. By creating an account or using the platform, you agree to these Terms. If you are acting on behalf of an educational institution, you confirm that you have authority to bind that institution to these Terms.

1Acceptance of Terms

By accessing or using Meri Paathshala, you confirm that you are at least 18 years old (or have parental/guardian consent), that you have read and understood these Terms, and that you agree to be bound by them. If you do not agree, you must not use the platform.

These Terms apply to all users of the platform, including institute administrators, teachers, students, and parents.

2Description of Service

All fees are non-refundable except as required by applicable law or as expressly stated in a written agreement. We reserve the right to change pricing with 30 days' written notice. Failure to pay may result in suspension or termination of access without further notice.

6Intellectual Property

All intellectual property rights in the Meri Paathshala platform — including the software, design, user interface, branding, and content created by us — are owned exclusively by Meri Paathshala or its licensors.

You are granted a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable licence to access and use the platform solely for your institute's internal educational and administrative purposes. This licence does not permit you to copy, modify, distribute, sell, or create derivative works based on our platform.

7Data Ownership

You retain full ownership of all data you input into the platform, including student records, academic data, and communications. By using the platform, you grant us a limited licence to process this data solely to provide and improve our services.

We act as a data processor on your behalf. You, as the institute, are the data controller responsible for ensuring lawful collection and use of student and parent data in accordance with applicable privacy laws.

8Disclaimer of Warranties

The platform is provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind, express or implied. We do not warrant that the platform will be uninterrupted, error-free, or free of viruses. We disclaim all warranties including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement to the fullest extent permitted by law.

9Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, Meri Paathshala shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, including loss of profits, data, or goodwill, arising from your use of or inability to use the platform.

Our total aggregate liability to you for any claim arising under or in connection with these Terms shall not exceed the total fees paid by you in the three months immediately preceding the event giving rise to the claim.

10Termination

Either party may terminate this agreement by providing 30 days' written notice. We may terminate your access immediately and without notice if:

Upon termination, your access to the platform will be revoked. Your data will be handled in accordance with our Privacy Policy and retained for up to 90 days to allow you to export it before permanent deletion.

11Governing Law

These Terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of India. Any disputes arising under or in connection with these Terms shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the competent courts in India. Both parties agree to first attempt to resolve disputes through good-faith negotiation before initiating legal proceedings.

12Changes to Terms

We reserve the right to modify these Terms at any time. When we make material changes, we will notify you via email or an in-platform notice at least 14 days before the changes take effect. Your continued use of the platform after the effective date of the revised Terms constitutes your acceptance.
